Info: Selective oestrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) are a type of medicine that includes Raloxifene, which is also sold under the brand name Evista. It is mostly used to treat and keep women from getting osteoporosis after menopause. As oestrogen does its good things in some tissues, like bone, raloxifene does the same thing. Sometimes, like in breast tissue, it stops oestrogen from working.
EFFECTS:
Raloxifene, which is sold under the brand name Evista, helps older women with osteoporosis build stronger bones and lower their risk of breaking a bone. Also, it lowers the risk of invasive breast cancer in women over 50 who are at a high risk. Not much of an effect on the risk of heart disease, but it does work on some cells like oestrogen and eases menopause hot flashes.DOSE RANGE AND DURATION OF USE:
Every day, you should take 60 mg of Raloxifene (Evista) by mouth to treat osteoporosis. People are given it for five years or as long as a medical worker says is best. The suggested dose to lower the risk of getting breast cancer is also 60 mg per day, taken by mouth. How long is used may change based on the person's position and the risks they face.POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS:
It's more likely that you will get blood clots in your legs or lungs if you take Raloxifene (Evista). You may also have hot flashes, leg cramps, leg and foot swelling, flulike symptoms, joint pain, and sweating.Combination with Other Drugs:
